NIA ANDREWS — the female singer who made her presence felt as a superb supporting member of MOCKY's Japan tours in both 2015 and 2016, and who also guested on the album by L.A.'s DEXTER STORY (praised by the likes of Gilles Peterson and Theo Parrish) — releases her first solo material on CD. A 6-track EP including the title song "From Here" and "The Ceiling," both performed live during MOCKY's Japan tour. MOCKY handles production on most of the tracks. With L.A. musicians such as JOEY DOSIK and MARK DE CLIVE-LOWE guesting, it's organic jazzy soul that carries on the good old 70s sound. Authentic. She's a charming person. Sincere. It quietly but surely gets to you. MOCKY stays firmly behind the scenes, but sound production like this doesn't come around often at all.
