Phil Dadson, a student of Cornelius Cardew, founded the New Zealand branch of Cardew's experimental performance collective the Scratch Orchestra, and the legendary FROM SCRATCH has been active since the '70s. This release features their signature piece "Gung Ho 1,2,3D" alongside performances by three acts — GOAT (led by YPY's Hino), DON'T DJ, and the Utena Kobayashi group — all working from that piece and its score!

A wholehearted project from EM RECORDS. "8, 9, 10 And 9, 10, 11," the most demanding piece from "Gung Ho 1,2,3D" by NZ legends FROM SCRATCH, who took on experiments in polyrhythm and odd meters using their self-built instruments (the "FROM SCRATCH" instruments). Three acts — GOAT, led by YPY's Koshiro Hino, DON'T DJ, and the Utena Kobayashi group — attempt fresh interpretations and performances. CD VERSION. (Original Japanese text by Saito)
