The two work with oddball samples and acoustic instruments, layering a wide range of vocal styles on top. Ghedalia at times delivers a low, lustrous voice reminiscent of Tom Waits, or singing that evokes an ethnic background akin to khoomei throat singing, while Maya answers with operatic beauty, holding long tones or letting out animalistic cries. The way the two spur each other on vocally is compelling in itself, but so is the way the singing and the surrounding instruments remain unbalanced yet just barely hold together — utterly fascinating.
