VAZZ is Hugh Small and Anna Howson, active since the '80s. The basic approach is Hugh Small's multitracked instrumentation with Anna's vocals on top, and while they're described as a post-punk/pop duo, that hardly captures the breadth of their music. Both the playing and the writing are top-notch, and the gorgeous piano melodies that suddenly surface midway through the album are superb. The bonus CD titled Piano Music is generous too — 20 tracks, 45 minutes — and the content is wonderful! (Original Japanese text by Hino)
