A new discovery in German '70s jazz-rock and electronic jazz.

Herbert Bochien is a multi-instrumentalist — piano, flute, saxophone and even synthesizer — who was active during the heyday of the German and wider European modern jazz scene, having worked alongside the likes of Klaus Doldinger and Peter Herbolzheimer. This is an ultra-rare recording, virtually unknown until now, cut around 1976/77 and pressed in just 300 copies that were sold almost exclusively to people with no connection to the jazz scene. Overwhelming technique, odd meters and seasoned rhythms, electronic grooves. The bass, the mixing — the potential of every element here feels miraculous. Astonishing. A phenomenal slice of '70s jazz, highly recommended. (Original Japanese text by Saito)
