2013年より現メンバー岡田高史（vo, dr, syn）、矢野駿典（gt, per）、清原基之（ba, syn）で活動開始。
楽曲は主にパルス調のギター、反復する硬質なドラムビートとベースから構成され、そこに囁きかけるかの如きボーカルが加わることで、独特のドライブ感を持ったグルーヴを作りあげる。
最近ではアナログシンセサイザーを導入し、ダンス・ミュージックというカテゴリーではない、よりポリリズミックでミニマルな楽曲も演奏している。
自身のイベント《NOUP PARADE!》を岡山でコンスタントに企画しながら、これまでに3つのカセットテープ、2015年に7インチEP「PARADE!」を自主リリース。2017年には〈Call And Response records〉主宰のコンピレーションCDに参加。
2018年5月16日には1st album『Flaming Psychic Heads』をリリース予定であり、アートワークはDOMMUNE宇川直宏が担当。

THE NOUP were formed in 2013 by Takafumi Okada(vo,dr,syn), Syunsuke Yano(gt,per), Motoyuki Kiyohara(ba,syn).
Their sound is mostly composed of guitar pulse acting on the nerve with iterating solid drum beat and bass. Additionally sorcerous voice into them, it create unique driving groove.
Recently they adopt analog synthesizers and play more polyrhythmic minimal songs unlike dance music.
They constantly hold them host event "NOUP PARADE!" in Okayama.

The debut album from THE NOUP, a new-generation band based at Pepperland—a live music venue produced by Iseo Nose, a key figure in Okayama’s underground music scene! Sharp grooves, polyrhythms, and a heavy, undulating distorted sound. The level of polish is astonishing. What an amazing band.
