OORUTAICHI X Canadian electronica act I AM ROBOT AND PROUD. One track each, plus remixes of each other's tracks, make up this 4-track EP released on 7E.P. Apparently it was a vinyl-only release for RSD2018. First up, I AM ROBOT AND PROUD's "Logika" is a masterpiece — melodic electronics with an organic feel. Then Ooruaitchi's remix unfolds with warped melodies, uniquely constructed rhythms & dance, and a curious sense of balance. It's abstract, yet it leaves a solid sonic experience with you. Take your time with it. The B-side features Ooruaitchi's original plus the I AM ROBOT AND PROUD remix. The slippage between rhythm and melody, and the charm of music that isn't merely a pursuit of technique but is clearly enjoyed as it's made — that's the uniqueness of Ooruaitchi's music. Recommended.
