〈ARKE SINTH〉 presents precious recordings by ARKE SINTH, a group formed by four young, cutting-edge musicians who were only active for a brief period in 1972-73.
The group was formed by four members: ALVISE VIDOLIN and GIOVANNI DE POLI, both students of electronic composer TERESA RAMPAZZI (who also had a release on 〈DIE SCHACHTEL〉), along with MICHELE SAMBIN — an experimental filmmaker, still a rarity in Italy at the time — and his brother MARCO SAMBIN. They use the legendary EMS Synthi A synthesizer plus cello, organ, sax, clarinet and more, and rather than descending into chaos the sound makes wonderfully effective use of space; it appears the performances follow graphic scores. The inner materials include those handwritten scores and notes on EMS Synthi A patches, which are fascinating in themselves!!
