YXIMALLOO has racked up numerous releases on 〈Sakura Records〉 since the late '70s, but he also has an album out on 〈ESP-DISK〉, the cult NY underground label behind Albert Ayler and SUN RA, and there's the story of how the record 〈KOMPAKT〉 put out under the title WANTED in search of its unknown creator turned out to be YXIMALLOO all along — a connoisseur's favorite and one of the true peaks of Japanese underground music!! It opens with A1's incantatory vocals over NEW WAVE-ish minimal sequences, followed by the time-warping, woozy JAD FAIR-esque vocals and guitar, while the B-side is a single 23-minute lo-fi noise epic that takes its time.
