Arthur Lyman, the exotic music maestro from Kauai, Hawaii, was the star vibraphone/marimba player of the Martin Denny group, and later led his own outfit, contributing enormously to the development of modern exotic sounds rooted in Polynesian music. Known in Japan for his friendship with Shintaro Katsu, he's been hailed as the "King of Lounge Music." This 1982 album, from the later part of his discography, prominently features vocals by his own daughter Kapiolani, and weaves in birdsong, monkey calls and the sound of waves to conjure a jungle-exotica atmosphere — a supremely blissful Hawaiian lounge-folk exotic jazz masterpiece. An official cassette reissue limited to 100 copies, produced in Japan. Stock unearthed. (Original Japanese text by COMPUMA)
