Amid growing interest in Japanese 80s music, this classic album—which garnered significant attention following the reissue of *MARIAH*—has now been reissued on vinyl overseas to great acclaim. “Takada explored the theme of ‘how the body reacts to time, the body itself, and turning inward,’ playing a variety of instruments—including the marimba, gong, cowbell, ocarina, tam-tams, a foot-operated organ, clay bells, a Coke bottle, cymbals, a vibraphone, and piano—all played by Takada alone—and completed through multiple layers of overdubbing.” The content is, as expected, a magnificent work that deserves to be reevaluated today. With highlights such as the poly-minimal “Crossing” and the 15-minute “Catastrophe Σ,” which takes you on a deep, immersive journey, this is a wonderful album that you absolutely must listen to.
