Experimental exotic jazz built around the guitar, letting a wide array of instruments — tabla, marimba, melodica, sanza and more — drift freely on their own terms! "24 Hrs," the 4th album unleashed in 1986 by sound designer RAMUNTCHO MATTA, who has also performed with DON CHERRY, gets a reissue! Courtesy of the ever-reliable reissue frontline 〈EMOTIONAL RESCUE〉.
Track List

Captivated by contemporary music from an early age, RAMUNTCHO MATTA is a maverick talent who forged ties with such renowned artists as JOHN CAGE, DON CHERRY, LAURIE ANDERSON and BRION GYSIN, carving his name into the French leftfield scene. This one leans even further into experimentalism than "Écoute...," the avant-jazz classic released the same year and likewise reissued by 〈EMOTIONAL RESCUE〉. Beyond the instruments above, it mixes in electronics, sax, flute, vocals and all manner of other sounds. A downer-toned exotic jazz record where each sound remains single-noted and independent, intersecting freely. Produced as the soundtrack for a Barcelona puppet/visual theater company.
