The mysterious album “Halcyon Gang Poet” has arrived, featuring nine tracks—most of which are short, clocking in at under two minutes—that evoke a unique sense of transience. The dynamic soundscapes and effects create a sense of vitality that makes you forget the tracks are beatless, complemented by lyrical melodies. From the opener onward, it’s fantastic—with tracks like “Elder Unit” and “How Only You Awake,” which use mutant synthesizers and effects to expand your mind, and “Aearth Cup” (sample 1), featuring irregularly muted synthesizers.
