Karen Dalton was a resident of Greenwich Village in its 1960s heyday — a 50th anniversary box set is due out soon — and was close friends with Bob Dylan and Fred Neil. This Dino Valenti-penned gem opens her 1971 album "In My Own Time," reissued by LITA in 2006 and a perennial favorite ever since among fans of American folk-blues and psychedelia alike. Singer-songwriter Angel Olsen, who got her start in Bonnie "Prince" Billy's backing band before breaking out on her own, covers it here backed by piano rather than guitar. A great cover.
