A washed-up Hollywood composer gets his last chance at stardom when he is employed at a once-hot but now failing television network.
This second album from Psychic Mirrors — led by Mickey de Grand IV, who has also produced tracks for the likes of SZA, ABRA, and Denzel Curry — serves up #4 (sample1), #5, #9, and #17 in an '80s pop & rock vein reminiscent of Hall And Oates and the Doobie Brothers; the heavily echoed, wobbly synth-funk of #2 and #13; the vaporwave ballad #8 (sample3); and #11, which moves from screwed to boogie to a suspense-drama-style instrumental — pure television.
