CEEOFUNK is a band pairing S.O.K., aka Spaced Out Krew, who just dropped a 12-inch on 〈PPU〉 in 2021, with Westbrook of the French electro-funk label 〈LA MAISON VENTURI〉. Every track on this album features the cute French-language vocals of Maeva Rojas (who also did the cover artwork — a painting with a dog and a vintage synth together... amazing...!). Scattered throughout are the freaky funk manners of P-Funk and Prince, and with electro, disco and new wave thrown in, it's a wild piece of work into which they've poured every bit of funk power they have. "Ubersex" (sample_3), which works in a reggaeton rhythm, is another nice groove. (Original Japanese text by AYAM)
