PASCAL COMELADE, France's leading master of toy pop and avant-pop, sees the sole album he recorded under the alias FLUENCE reissued by ÉTATS-UNIS, a sublabel of SUPERIOR VIADUCT! A magical soundscape led by kaleidoscopic arpeggios and howling guitar. Strong kosmische overtones, plus the kind of offbeat exotica that foreshadows COMELADE's later work. Recommended.

An exploratory electronic work recorded in Montpellier, France between 1974 and 1975 and released in 1975 on PÔLE RECORDS. The peculiar exotica of "Barcelona Tango" (sample2), with its pocket trumpet and looping drum beat, also features the unorthodox instruments he would go on to favor (plastic saxophone, toy piano, etc.). It's hard to believe this dates from 1975 — a timeless experimental streak that points straight to his later work. Small quantity in stock. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
