BEISPIEL, the deluxe duo formed by two heavyweights, Frank Bretschneider and Jan Jelinek, drops its debut on FAITICHE! The impression is of Frank nestling up alongside Jan's hazy, languid electronics, with startling sequences flickering in and out of view for an added thrill. An album collecting nine tracks chosen from sessions the pair deliberately carried out without any set concept.

The two began holding irregular sessions in 2016 without setting any particular theme or concept. This release gathers those accumulated recordings, finally arriving after a long wait. The title "Muster" means sample/pattern, and "BEISPIEL" means example — even the info makes clear this is a duo that deliberately avoids attaching meaning. Editing seems to have been kept to an absolute minimum too, making it conceptual in reverse: simply documenting the sessions as they were. The nine tracks head in no fixed direction, yet there's a sense of consistency, and you can tell it was made in a relaxed state — quietly, warmly comfortable music. It's also a plus that on first listen you can't tell what era it comes from. (Original Japanese text by Hino)
