A label sampler EP bringing together heavyweights like TAMMO HESSELINK, an artist on modern electronic frontline label NOUS'KLAER AUDIO, and JABES, who has a solo EP lined up on TIMEDANCE! This is the first release from LURCH, a bass/leftfield label out of Manchester. Each artist steers heavy sub-bass, showcasing everything from polyrhythmic workouts to tech-bass.

From LURCH, the label launched by AVERNIAN, who also releases on CIRCULAR JAW and ROW RECORDS! The absolute highlight is "Water Plus" (sample1), a polyrhythmic broken beat cut from TAMMO HESSELINK, who showed his chops on the "Mantis" series for Dutch techno institution DELSIN. Also included is "Rite" (sample2), an earthy, percussive halftime track from Leeds up-and-comer JABE, known for his collaborations with close ally HAPPA. STENNY of ILIAN TAPE joins as well — with artists who have thrived since the rise of bass music, an alternative sensibility is in full bloom. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
