A new album from the 80-year-old Roland P. Young. A young musician out of Kansas City, he was active in San Francisco and New York before launching his run of self-produced releases with his 1980 solo debut "Isophonic Boogie Woogie" [EM1045LP2]. That title hinted at both the forward-thinking nature and the earthiness of his sound, drawing on elements of jazz, ambient, soul, new age and electronic music to create soul-stirring, multi-world avant-garde music. His concept of "isophonic music," which he has pursued for over 40 years, crystallizes these elements through the comprovisational use of soprano sax, keyboards, drum machines and the possibilities of the recording studio. "Spontaneous Bounce" collects 13 new pieces, delivering a charming and joyful celebration of music and life. Please join in the festivities.
