Under the JACKSONVILLE alias, this is CAPRICORN ONE, whose work has captivated top artists like SURGEON and AVALON EMERSON. A new release on Edinburgh underground imprint 〈HEADSET〉, a rave series that launched in 2014 and started up its own label this year.

Percussive breaks like "Random Systems Inc" (sample1), where R&B cut-up samples intrude on mechanical breakbeats, and "Clean Up" (sample2), which crosses syncopated percussion drums with distorted sub-bass — everything is thrown into the rhythm work rather than the upper register, a rhythmic experiment you sink into thanks to its monotone sound design as well.
