Track List

Built on a jazz foundation, this record draws in Brazilian/carnival/bossa nova, Latin, African rhythms, Irish flavors, a nostalgic, languid, exotic resort mood, and even experimental avant-garde touches, making for a bold work that broke away from the post-punk current up to that point. It hinted at the arrival of some new movement, and alongside Antena on Crepuscule and Tracey Thorn, Ben Watt and EBTG on Cherry Red, it helped shape the neo-acoustic scene and boom that followed — a key release. A revolutionary neo-acoustic classic that still exerts enormous influence on countless artists, from indie figures like Saint Etienne and Belle and Sebastian onward!! Sleeve artwork by Wendy Smith of Prefab Sprout. 2021 reissue. Clear vinyl. Released by Lantern Editions of Rome, Italy, a label with an ongoing run of fine reissues of artists steeped in the experimental spirit of early '80s post-punk. (Original Japanese text by COMPUMA)
