Star Creature has released a 12-inch vinyl featuring an instrumental version of a track from Neal Francis’s ATO Records album. Francis, who made a name for himself as a session musician in his hometown of Chicago at a young age, gained popularity almost overnight following his solo debut on Karma Chief Records after a hiatus. The original track features his vocals, opening with an even kick drum, galactic synths, and intertwining keyboards in a boogie-funk style; this 12-inch version omits the vocal sections to create a dancefloor-ready mix. The remix is by Chicago house outsider DERRICK CARTER. It’s a great mix with a light groove that incorporates vocals and has a slightly funk-latina vibe. (Original Japanese text by Saito)
