Unearthed from unknown artists' cassettes and CDs, private-press records, and personally held archives — a collection of hidden Mexican electronic music, and truly a miraculous reissue job! Electronic music that developed rapidly from the mid-'80s through the '90s, recreating the ritual character of Mesoamerican and Mayan civilization. A mystical new age/ambient compilation that also makes use of ethnic instruments and natural sounds.

A joint release from electronic music excavators SEANCE CENTRE and SMILING C! A community of Mexican underground musicians who, through their own networks, explorations in ethnomusicology and electronic music, and home-recording practices, pursued music far from the mainstream. Mesoamerican, Aztec, Mayan and Olmec traditional music and mythology recreated through electronics. Trans-historical electronic music incorporating pre-Columbian melodies and rhythms, natural sounds and folk instruments. Though the styles differ — new age, ambient, electroacoustic — each imagines the mysteries of the distant ancient past. Most of the tracks here are previously unreleased, and the release comes with an insert featuring artist notes and photos. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
