Using "biosonification"—a technique that transforms the biological rhythms of living organisms into sound—this ecological ambient piece converts impulses from four different mushroom species (including reishi and shiitake) into musical notes! A collaboration between AUNTIE FLO, OR:LA, and harpist RÓISÍN BERKELEY. This piece pays homage through sound to mushrooms that exist in harmony with their environment.

Two full-length ambient works created as background music for the Mycelium Pavilion at the 2023 Glastonbury Festival! A star-studded project featuring AUNTIE FLO—a multi-talented artist from Glasgow who heads up 〈HUNTLEYS + PALMERS〉 and 〈HIGHLIFE〉—alongside top DJ OR:LA, joined by harpist RÓISÍN BERKELEY. This unique sound—created by capturing electrical impulses from mushrooms and converting them into musical notes, while interweaving harp glissandos to express the inner texture of the mushrooms—is a true sonic journey. The iconic artwork was created by JANA NICOLE, winner of France’s prestigious Chavannes Prize. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to environmental charities! (Original Japanese text by Akie)
