Tape Reworks, Vol. 2

  • Cat No: NONCLSS052
  • updated:2024-06-25

Format

7inch 2090 JPY

The second 7-inch single cut from the rework project based on the album released in 2021 by Langham Research Centre, the London-based electronic music group exploring musique concrète and live electronics under the theme of early British electronic music!!!

Side A (sample 1) features a remix by Kara-Lis Coverdale, the new-generation Montreal digital/electro-acoustic talent and organist who has held residencies at GRM in Paris, EMS in Stockholm, and FUGA in Zaragoza, and has presented installations and works around the world at the Barbican, MAC, Elbphilharmonie, and Kölner Philharmonie. Side B (sample 2) features a remix by Beatriz Ferreyra, a legend among legends and an honorary member of the International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music, who moved from Argentina to Paris in 1962 to study under Nadia Boulanger and Edgardo Cantón, became a member of GRM in Paris in 1963, contributed to musique concrète founder Pierre Schaeffer's book "Traité des Objets Musicaux" (1966), and helped realize Schaeffer's "Solfège de l'Objet Sonore" (1967). A superb electro-acoustic, future-facing 7-inch record on which two outstanding electronic music artists, one new and one veteran, carry out an endeavor that feels handed down to the future.
