A hidden gem of 1980s Scottish post-punk/new wave. A collection from "22 BEACHES," a band that once stood alongside PRIMAL SCREAM and COCTEAU TWINS yet broke up before ever getting their due! A precious record documenting the band's history, from early material charged with raw DIY punk energy to later work incorporating Balearic and dub. The shifting recording techniques are unique in their own right.
Track List

The latest work from Glasgow-based 〈SEATED RECORDS〉, a label digging up hardcore unreleased and buried recordings! A valuable album compiling the recordings of "22 BEACHES" — a Stirling-born band formed by classmates — covering their active years from 1980 to 1984. From early tracks like "Zoo" and "Talent Show," where distorted vocals and guitars and melancholic chords ooze primal post-punk energy (the recordings themselves lo-fi and rough), to later pieces like "Somebody Got It Wrong" that reveal influences from high life, dub and beyond. A short-lived career with dramatically shifting musicality, held together by a consistent alternative spirit. Sequenced in reverse chronological order, tracing the timeline from the newest backward!
