"Captivated Heart: Remixed" by Hrdvsion, a project by Nathan Jonson, who draws inspiration from African rhythms such as gqom, kwaito, and electro-Acholi while exploring his own unique world and style. Featuring a remix by Nathan Fake—a master of one-of-a-kind, heavy electronic dance madness—the album also includes tracks by Gqom-influenced Zambian artist SHE Spells Doom; up-and-coming Canadian artists Shanx and efemme, who are based in the same country as Jonson; and Detroit drum ’n’ bass artist Sinistarr, along with Jonson’s own remix.

Nathan Fake’s music blends African dance with industrial hammer beats, as well as psychedelic EDM that draws on counterpoint and contemporary classical music—as if encapsulating the mystery of numerical regularity and dissonance. It’s powerful. From Shangaan and Electro Acholi to Hrdvsion’s Juke-inspired remixes, African Electro, and Sinistarr’s complex, step-based sound centered around 160 BPM—each track features unique sounds and dance styles that transcend conventional genre boundaries, making this a highly recommended release!
