In 1986, computer & science met dancehall reggae on the revolutionary riddim Sleng Teng, and the man who brought it to the world's attention was dancehall singer Wayne Smith. His earlier debut album, released in 1982, is an essential record that lets you feel the breath of roots reggae through rudie-flavored early dancehall — "Youthman Skanking" now gets a deluxe reissue!!!

Produced by Prince Jammy, recorded at Channel One & King Tubby studios. The one-drop sound that could only have come from this era, and Wayne Smith's melancholy vocals radiating rude-boy freshness and star quality, are simply superb. Start with the title track B1 "Youthman Skanking" (sample1), the single cut B4 "Ism Skism" (sample2), and B5 "Ain't No Me Without You" (sample3). 24-bit remastering, with photo liner notes and art sheet enclosed.
