A reissue job from THANK YOU, the sublabel of Berlin maniac imprint SOUND METAPHORS! A new beat oddity released in 1989 on ESPERA, a label that put out Belgian folklore, pop and new beat. "Moskitos (Beat Mix)" (sample1) drops in hallucinatory insect-wing buzzing and pure pop appeal, shaving off new beat's aggression entirely for a thoroughly danceable result. On the flip, "Nuevo Mondo" gets a dangerous ANATOLIAN WEAPONS remix that puts the original's acidic synths to work and reshapes it into mid-tempo trance. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
