Formed in the early 1980s, MUTE BEAT went on to explore a one-of-a-kind instrumental sound as a reggae band and as a peerless dub outfit. Their 1989 live album CD "LIVE," compiled from selected live recordings made between 1988 and 1989, now arrives on vinyl for the very first time as a 2LP set, 35 years on (limited edition)!!!

Following their 1987 debut album "FLOWER," the 1988 sophomore effort "LOVER'S ROCK," and the third album "MARCH" released in July 1989, this album came out in 1989 and lets you fully savor the dynamism of the band on stage, live & direct—something quite different from their studio work. Twelve tracks selected from live recordings made between 1988 and 1989, after the release of "LOVER'S ROCK."
Includes material from their live tour across North America, taking in venues such as SOB's in N.Y., plus performances with legends like Gladstone "Gladdy" Anderson and Roland Alphonso, as well as Kiyoshi Matsutakeya. The groove that only a live performance can deliver, along with the LIVE DUB MIX, is simply stunning—something no studio recording could capture.
