Based between Berlin and New York, Colin Self — who released the album "Siblings" on Rvng Intl. in 2018 — returns with a third album: "respite ∞ levity for the nameless ghost in crisis." Queer psychedelia. A sound that's evangelical in the vein of Sufjan Stevens, yet also hedonistic, meditative, perverse, and utterly overwhelming. A madness that feels powerful enough to repaint the state of this deranged world. There's even beauty in it. This struck me as one of the essential keys to understanding contemporary America.

Colin Self travels to and from one realm to another on ∞ levity for the nameless ghost in crisis, the Berlin and New York-based artist’s third album, conjuring uncanny voices through their own singular singing style. Material and immaterial, fixities and fluidities, bodies and souls: such distinctions matter little in the looping, ever-crossing world of r∞L4nGc, where radiant, limitless beauty and boundless, inescapable terror are one and the same.

To carry their voices to the nameless spirits, the songs are sung in Latin and Polari (the coded slang used by gay men when homosexuality was illegal). Garage and modern electronic approaches, meditative falsetto vocals, pop, gorgeous, and strangely trance-inducing. An astonishing world.
Limited Edition Black Vinyl. Housed in an inner sleeve featuring lyrics and additional artwork by Agosto Machado. A portion of the proceeds from this release will be donated to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund, an organization that provides free medical care each year to thousands of injured and ill children who cannot receive treatment through their local healthcare systems.
