A monumental work of experimental improvised jazz paying tribute to the great Afrofuturist SUN RA! Just like SUN RA, they bring in the ROCK-SI-CHORD keyboard, plus vocals and rhythms drawn from Cuban folklore, expanding the music into an innovative sound that goes far beyond mere homage. Out on Brooklyn's 577 RECORDS.

A quartet of longtime collaborators MICHAEL SARIAN (trumpet), MATTHEW PUTMAN (keyboards) and FEDERICO UGHI (drums), joined by Cuban bassist LEDIAN MOLA, pays tribute to the great Saturnian SUN RA, the very symbol of Afrofuturism! Working from the blueprint for cosmic music that SUN RA drew up by layering everything from big band jazz to electronic music, noise and soul, they unfold an avant-garde experimentalism with its own distinct folkloric flair, thanks to LEDIAN MOLA's Cuban rhythms on double bass and his vocals. Be sure to check out the cover design, too, which reflects the ancient Egyptian inspiration that ran through SUN RA. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
