Emerging from the moors of the post-industrial North, Miles J Paralysis arrives on his freshly minted Crying Outcast imprint with a maiden voyage of an unsettling yet hypnotic nature, reinforced with a heavyweight wormhole dub version from London stalwarts Brian not Brian (Going Good / Midnight Drive) and Piers Harrison (Soft Rocks / Mysticisms). Opening salvo: The Folktronic EP showcases a deep understanding of sonic landscapes, offering a fresh and versatile take on high-octane dub and occult house. Celestial moans intertwine with spiralling, hazy percussion, creating an immersive experience that pulls listeners into its orbit. Designed to keep the dancefloor moving, this record carries an eerie undercurrent - hinting that something ‘other’ lurks just beneath the surface.
Brian Not Brian of Going Good, which has released MOODHUT, The Mystic Jungle Tribe, Detroit's Todd Modes, and more via London, introduced us to Miles J Paralysis' Crying Outcast label. The first track on the EP, "Still Waiting," is a cool industrial dub-influenced track. Then there's 'Like A Version' Disco Dub No. 4, an aggressive remix co-produced by Brian Not Brian and Piers Harrison, who have also worked together on mixes for Ghost Assembly and released a J MIX split, and B1, 'Always Liked Scarecrow', a remix by Piers Harrison.
