This is a collaborative project by MICHAEL KANDEL and TOM CHASTEEN, specialists in the West Coast rave scene. While their previous works under the names HIGH LONESOME SOUNDSYSTEM and VOODOO TRANSMISSION have been reissued, this release marks the magnificent reissue of their sole EP from their earlier EDEN TRANSMISSION era! Featuring “I’m So High / I’m So High (Ubud Mix)” (sample 1), where psychedelic, trance-like, meandering synths are intertwined with surreal vocal samples, to “Transmission: Maya” (sample 2)—a psychic breaks track with a dark, boosted hoover bass—these tracks go beyond merely defining LA rave sounds and breaks; they offer a glimpse into the depths of their complex textures.
