Cushty is a collaboration between Kuniyuki and Nick Cohen, a British session bassist who has played on Roy Ayers' and Massive Attack's albums.

A remix by Kuniyuki was provided for Cushty's album and 12" released on Sound Of Speed in 2007, and a song that Kuniyuki & Cushty provided the music for the 2010 Sound Of Speed omnibus, Circles, a baneful work of Kuniyuki & Cushty's 12" cut over 15 years. The three tracks are "Tremor," "Tremor (Kuniyuki Dub Mix)," and "Be Free" with electronic percussion beats, deep abstracts, dubby electronics, and great bass pplay.

A collaboration between Kuniyuki Takahashi and Cushty (the solo project of UK bassist Nick Cohen). Together, they have created a unique and engaging sound. The sound is spacious and full of groove, where the musicianship of these two veterans is on full display.

The work organically combines live music and electronics to create a deep groove and hypnotic rhythms. Based in Sapporo, Kuniyuki Takahashi is the driving force behind this project. Well known for the way he fuses electronica and music, with these tracks, he has created a soundscape of beats and sonics. Nick Cohen provided additional production ideas and played bass. His contribution brings some of the influences from his home town of London (where he's a renowned session player and collaborator, having graced recordings of the likes Massive Attack, Roy Ayers, Adam F, Jimpster and Eurythmics to name but a few).
