From the hybrid 150bpm techno cut "masking" (sample1), which folds in minimal, deep techno, dub and African rhythm elements, to the long-form 117bpm dub techno of "ziggurat" (sample2)—immersive, dubbed-out percussion marked by the delicate push and pull of the rhythm in its latter half—the solid, crushing bass hits hard. And then there's "ruins" (sample3), an industrial jungle/leftfield high-speed drum & bass track at 86/172bpm that offers a glimpse of Forest Drive West's more frenzied side.
