This reggae track, with its soulful downtempo groove—driven by the tight bassline that is the hallmark of Slowly—weaves a message about living by your own instincts as the days flow by. A2 “Hatoba” (sample 1), a heartfelt original track and lead single featuring singer Mahina Apple’s deepened Japanese lyrics and cool vocals; A5 “Drippin’ Summer feat. Mizuki Ohira” (sample 2), a collaboration with Mocky that was also included in the renowned compilation series *Relaxin’ with Lovers*; 8sample 2), and B2 “How About All About” (sample 3)—a collaboration with Mocky featuring Portuguese singer Liliana Andrade, who also appears on Mocky’s tracks, and which was released on 7-inch vinyl—lead the way. This release also features Jasmine Kara, Swish Jaguar, Liliana Andrade, Mocky, Mizuki Ohira, Mahina Apple, Tsuyoshi Kosuga (Cro-Magnon), Yusuke Hirado (quasimode), Kazuhiro Sunaga (quasimode), and and original instrumental tracks. While centered on reggae, the sound has been further refined through a blend of various elements, establishing Slowly’s unique worldview—which could be described as Balearic, chill-out, and soulful crossover reggae—across all 11 tracks.
Track B3, “I Get High,” a cover of Freda Payne’s classic performed with Jasmine Kara—with whom they also teamed up on the hit track “I Like It” from their previous album— and B4, “You Can Fly On My Aeroplane feat. Swish Jaguar”—a cover of Wee’s song and a collaboration with Swish Jaguar, known as an original member of Tuxedo—is included here in a previously unreleased extended version.
