From The Villagers, a band active in South Carolina in the 1960s, comes "Yes I'm Ready" (sample1), a sweet and beautiful lowrider soul cut featuring Jeanne Lavoie's bittersweet vocals — utterly aching and irresistible.

And the flip, "The Mirror" (sample2) — a previously unreleased, psychedelic smokin' number by the obscure garage rock band August, with a fantastic guitar solo — is just as killer!!! A superb pairing on 7-inch, another fine job from Tramp Records. (Original Japanese text by COMPUMA)
