Light Sounds Dark - Cat No: LSD048
- updated:2025-09-23
A new release from the UK's maverick label LIGHT SOUNDS DARK (aka "LSD"), known for unearthing seriously obscure outsider recordings! This time the focus is on minimal wave, avant-pop, and punk. Unknown material gathered from anonymous tape releases of the '70s and '80s — a planet orbiting the space between krautrock and wave: "Construction of a Planet."
Track List

With past releases like reissues of degraded cassette tapes made by experimenters of the mind, LIGHT SOUNDS DARK has long been at the forefront of digging up hardcore post-punk / no wave material, and they don't let the obsessives down this time either. Once again, they've assembled rare recordings that are long out of print — and in some cases may never have officially been released at all. From guitar pop where electric guitars growl beneath mysterious girl vocals, to electronics landing right between krautrock and minimal wave, to tape-loop-style noise. Compared to their previous releases, this one feels more rhythmic and full of movement — and as always, the sleeve is fantastic. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
