"Solar Wind" — the sole album released in 1983 by OM, the jazz group led by guitarist Seiji Hano — gets its first-ever vinyl LP reissue via Studio Mule, a sublabel of Mule Musiq. Featuring sitar and tabla players alongside the core group, it's a masterpiece exploring spiritual, Fourth World-flavored ethnic jazz shot through with a distinctly Japanese, nostalgic wabi-sabi feel.

The original pressing is an ultra-rare holy grail, and one of the finest examples of Japanese ethnic jazz. Scored for flute, sitar, guitar, bass, percussion and tabla, their sound plays like a Japanese answer to contemporaries on ECM such as Oregon and Codona — refined, yet brimming with a uniquely Japanese wabi-sabi: melancholic, nostalgic, and deeply resonant.
All 7 tracks included, among them "Windmill" (A4), featured on "Midnight In Tokyo Vol.2" compiled by Dubby. (Original Japanese text by COMPUMA)
