This is the new album from ESS WHITELEY, who has explored music deeply from an academic standpoint, from recording through to score writing. Having previously presented work informed by eco-futurism, here the concept centers on the mycelial networks that fungi spread throughout the soil. Highlights include "Interspecies Magicians" (sample1), where mystical marimba rolls and electronics intersect polyrhythmically, and "Whispered Messages in Tapestried Field of Fluid Motion" (sample2), an electro-acoustic experimental folklore piece with a Celtic essence.
