Alien Transistor - Cat No: N 103 LP
- updated:2025-12-19
Joasihno, the experimental pop duo from southern Germany made up of Cico Beck (also a member of The Notwist) and drummer/composer Nico Sierig, returns with their first album in nine years on Germany's Alien Transistor, the label also known for releasing Tenniscoats. Dreaming music of retro-space sci-fi/lo-fi pop, brimming with a DIY feel.
Track List

Spots is the fourth full-length from Joasihno, who have long moved back and forth between lo-fi and sci-fi, retro electronica and contemporary music. The tracks work like Rube Goldberg machines set in motion by strings, glitches and blippy sounds. The pastoral, cute movement of the sounds—like an old robot given a soul—is utterly endearing, and there's a quiet DIY madness here that couldn't care less about automation: indietronica at its cutting edge. With a cinematic air about it too, this is an excellent record that should also reach fans of Japanese ambient. (Original Japanese text by Adachi)
