A welcome new single from HIROSHI TAKAKURA, who, working out of 〈RIDDIM CHANGO〉 — the label he runs with 1TA of BIM ONE PRODUCTION — links up with the London scene while pursuing dub at its cutting edge! Starting with "Motion Exchange" (sample1), an industrial stepper steered by dark, melancholic chords that dazzles with tricky drum development from around the one-minute mark, through to "Handdara dance" (sample3), which takes a 220-plus BPM 4/4 into a subspace of half-time and sub-bass, it's firmly rooted in UK roots dub and dancehall while drawing on live-set instinct to explore new territory in modern dub.
