Fulltono, a leading figure in the juke/footwork scene; Element, a dub producer who runs the label “Riddim Chango” with 1TA as well as his own label “Parallel Line” and was selected for WIRE’s “Best Of” list; Kafu, a trackmaker and friend of the unconventional Ghost Coast hip-hop group Moe and Ghosts; New York’s maverick MADTEO, who connects with underground scenes across the country and releases works on labels like Honest Jon’s, DDS, and Sahko; and a previously released remix by computer music maestro Carl Stone, who has long maintained a base in Japan. It transforms experiments with repetition and error—rooted in physical performance—and a sense of distortion into an exhilarating new form that amplifies, solidifies, and reflects these elements from various disciplines.
