Minas, Tokyo, Los Angeles - Fabiano do Nascimento's organic minimalism connects different places and times, and his latest work "Cavejaz", featuring Paulo Santos of UAKTI and U-zhaan, is now available on PLANCHA's Japan-only CD The album is available on CD exclusively in Japan on PLANCHA label.

Fabiano do Nascimento is a Brazilian/American guitarist, composer, and arranger from Rio de Janeiro, currently based in Los Angeles and Tokyo, who uses multi-stringed guitars and unique tunings to create music that crosses freely between jazz, experimental music, and electronica, with Afro samba, folklore, choro and other traditional Brazilian musical roots as its core,

The new album by Fabiano do Nascimento is widely acclaimed for its musicality, which freely traverses the textures of jazz, experimental music, and electronica, based on the roots of traditional Brazilian music such as Afro samba, folklore, and choro.

This album is the result of an exchange with Jennifer Souza, a singer and songwriter from the southeastern Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, and her collaboration with Paulo Santos, a musician known as a member of the iconic Brazilian group UAKTI, The spirit of UAKTI, which has created its own instruments out of all kinds of materials, including PVC pipes, glass, water, and sponges, and has performed with Paul Simon, Philip Glass, and Milton Nascimento, is the cornerstone of this work.

In August 2024, Fabiano and Paulo began recording at Studio Ilha do Corvo in Belo Horizonte with producer Leo Marques. However, at the same time, Brazil was facing a critical situation when the largest forest fire in its history broke out and smoke damage spread to all parts of South America. During the limited sessions, "Leo started recording, and we just played freely," as Fabiano describes it, and the intuition of the moment became engraved in the music.

The second half of the album was produced in Japan. Fabiano performed with Japanese musician U-zhaan at the Noh Theater in Tokyo, and the performance was recorded live. The album also includes a solo recording at SALO in Oiso, and a live performance in Los Angeles with longtime collaborator, percussionist Ricardo "Tiki" Pasillas (Salvador), blending multiple layers of time and space into a single piece of work.

The album is a blend of guitar and percussion.

The addition of U-zhaan's tabla and Tiki's hybrid percussion, along with guitar and handmade percussion, form a unique soundscape that combines organic performance and minimalist composition.

The title of the album, "Cavejaz," was derived from the overall feeling of the work and was suggested by Sam Gendel, a close friend of the band.

The title "Cavejaz" was suggested by Sam Gendel, a close friend of the artist, and was inspired by music with a hint of water and organic elements that resonates from the depths of a cave.
