DJ Suchi, originally from Norway and drawing on her Indian cultural background, has been gaining attention in the London scene with her blend of breaks, left-field techno, and global sounds—as a resident DJ at Rinse FM and with support from !K7—and has now launched her own label. Her 12-inch releases are now in stock. Her current sound explores progressive rhythm science rooted in African polyrhythms, offering an entertaining blend of diverse influences—from rave, sound system culture, and UKG to IDM and African electro. SUCHI presents Ikke Sant, a fresh imprint founded on dancefloor exploration and experimentation. The label’s debut is Sub Cut and comes courtesy of its founder; three tracks of shimmering psychedelia in hybridised club fun.
Ikke Sant, a Norwegian phrase that loosely translates to “isn’t it?, not true?”. For SUCHI, it's an effervescent inspiration that informs her approach to dance music and provides the title to her beloved Rinse FM residency. That radio show dutifully showcased her myriad of influences while clarifying her remarkable hybrid style as a DJ. Now, she extends its operations to a label. A natural progression, offering an opportunity to host her own productions while delving further into label curation.
SUCHI provides the label's inaugural release with Sub Cut. Across three tracks, she delves into the entrancing and playful, with familiar patterns coming unstuck with alien textures and dissonant sounds. The title track struts with mischievous energy, a roller that writhes amongst throbbing didgeridoo patterns and circular bassline. Every Pan Has A Lid gurgles in psy-eyed hypnosis, the shuffling percussion rides wonky alongside processed vocals interspersed with club-addled drama. Propeller digs deepest, its heightened tempo summoning celestial arpeggios while its charged low-end pumps deep for an eyes-closed finale.

SUCHI, a rising star who debuted on 〈Coastal Haze〉 and has been signed by labels such as 〈Belters〉, 〈Spectral Sound〉, and 〈!K7〉, is releasing this track on her own label, Ikke Sant—which is also the name of her party. “Sub Cut” features psychedelic spaciousness and a racing groove, while “Every Pan Has A Lid” is a bouncy blend of African beats and electro.
