What really surprised me was, of course, the A1 track “Disco Pare” (sample 1)—a track from The Escorts’ “Disco Party,” a highly unusual one-off project released in 1977 by the New Jersey reggae label 〈APRIL〉 —a unique one-off project that remains a mega-rare disco track with no official reissue to this day—featuring The Escorts’ “Disco Party.” The combination of loops and filters on A1 “Disco Pare” (sample 1) teases the dance floor, and the way the original vocals are skillfully interspersed like a side dish is masterful. I also highly recommend A2 “Liberi Liberi” (sample 2), a proto-house-style arrangement of the 80s Italo track “Aiè” by GERRY SCOTTI, where the raw synth sounds clash with the chanting vocals.
