Ten years of rare archival field recordings of the present, living culture of communities in the North Caucasus! This is the first entry into the wide-ranging activities of ORED Recordings, a free net label based in Cherkess, southwestern Russia, that presents field recordings and experimental music from the Caucasus and surrounding regions. The label is co-published by TAL in Düsseldorf, Germany, which is also well-known for reissuing Kopy and Tentenko releases and Reiko Kudo's works.

The project of Bulat Khalilov and Timur Kodzoko, two North Caucasian Cherkessian musicians who have been working since 2013 to document and preserve traditional and post-traditional music, but in a DIY punk spirit rather than within an academic framework. This is the first physical release from ORED Recordings. Field recordings of performances made at communal gatherings, local festivals, and family gatherings, where music-loving people share their intimacy. A world of raw expression, style, and rhythm inhabiting mountain villages. The 15 very interesting pieces range from a cappella folk songs to percussion improvisations to horn and string pieces, capturing the unique nuances of the region. The album also includes extensive liner notes and previously unpublished photographs, as is typical of a label that aims not only to present the diverse music of the Caucasus, but also to tell the stories behind it, including its struggles and independence. You can also start with the track listing. (Original Japanese text by Adachi)
