Evoking the golden age of French cinema, like a fictional soundtrack, this music is rooted in modal jazz and incorporates the downtempo, slow-motion beat-making techniques of artists like Portishead, blended with the musical worlds of Robert Watt, Angelo Badalamenti, Michel Legrand—a new horizon of introspective, imaginative, melodic, cinematic instrumental music is expanding.
Track List

Inspired by film music masters such as Piero Piccioni and Michel Elgrand, as well as a wide range of film scores, this duo—based in Rouen, northern France—fuses their diverse musical tastes, ranging from spiritual jazz, folk, classical chamber music, and electronic sounds—to create a fictional soundtrack-like musical world. This is the long-awaited second album from Bolbec, a duo based in Rouen, northern France, consisting of Axel Concato and Barth Corbelet.
The album features 10 tracks performed as an ensemble, incorporating saxophone, flute, piano, double bass, drums, trumpet, French horn, cello, and violin, along with string arrangements.
Released by Batov Records, a highly acclaimed London-based label known for thoughtfully presenting global funk, world beats, and Middle Eastern grooves to audiences worldwide. (Original Japanese text by COMPUMA)
